Do I need to see a Chiropractor?

Many people know about chiropractic care for back pain, but few may know that studies have found it to be effective for a variety of conditions. Spinal joint alignment is important and while pain may not be evident you may not be at your best. This is where chiropractors can help. Since the primary focus of Chiropractic care is to improve nervous system function, patients can have an improvement with many health conditions. We would at least recommend everyone have a spinal checkup to make sure their spine is functioning as well as possible.

Can Chiropractic help my condition?

Every patient is unique and this is why at Knox Chiropractic we conduct a thorough examination to allow the Chiropractor to build a specific clinical impression of each patient and we ask the questions to get to the underlying cause of your pain. This will allow us to give every patient the best care possible. Since the primary focus of our care is improved nervous system function, chiropractic can have a positive effect on many health conditions. Please consider an appointment to let us fully assess your condition to see if chiropractic care can help you reach your health goals.

What conditions benefit from chiropractic care?

Many people know about chiropractic care for back pain, but few may know that studies have found it to be effective for a variety of conditions, such as migraine headaches, neck pain and shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica and fibromyalgia. Some patients who complain of headaches may actually have a lower back problem that is causing a compensation reaction at the base of the skull. Other patients may be experiencing numbness and tingling in their fingers, when the actual problem is in the neck. Every patient is unique so we ask the questions to get to the underlying cause of your pain. Since the primary focus of your care is improved nervous system function, chiropractic can have a positive effect on many health conditions not normally considered in the realm of “chiropractic care”. Here is short list of some of the conditions we see often -

  • headaches and migraine

  • neck pain and upper back pain

  • shoulder pain - frozen shoulder and rotator cuff injuries

  • elbow pain - tennis elbow and golfers elbow

  • carpal tunnel syndrome and wrist pain

  • rib pain

  • back pain when breathing

  • low back pain

  • sway back

  • growing pains

  • sciatica

  • knee pain

  • heel pain

  • TMJ disorders - jaw pain and clicking with or without headache

  • tingling and numbness

How does chiropractic help with general health and well-being?

Since the primary focus of your care is improved nervous system function, chiropractic can have a positive effect on many health conditions not normally thought of as "back" problems. Recent studies show an increased immunity for 3 weeks after an adjustment, so we are only now scientifically confirming what many patients have been saying for years. Chiropractic does more than just get to the cause of your pain.

Does Chiropractic hurt?

Questions like this we get asked a lot and the answer is under normal circumstances, adjustments don't hurt. The patient may experience a minor amount of discomfort during the adjustment, which lasts only moments. Remember we are looking to get to the cause of your pain.

After successfully completing 3 years of undergraduate studies at University, Chiropractors complete an additional two-year Masters Degree by coursework at University.
